Hazardous hairballs… 😿

A few days ago Roxy had stopped eating and using the litter box. She did not look comfortable at all. So the humans took her to the vets. During her exam, the vet noticed that Roxy had a mass in her intestine. The vet wasn’t sure what it was though, so Roxy stayed at the vets for further testing. Turned out the poor little darling had a huge hairball stuck in her intestine which had almost blocked off her entire digestive tract and had to be removed by surgery. 😦 We were so worried about our little baby but all went well and Roxy is back home now resting. 🙂

xx Tigerlino & the humans ❤

Roxy

Get well soon, little sweetheart…

  1. Poor Roxy!!! Poor You! You had to be sooo scared! This is the 3rd of 4th kitty who I have heard this happen to in the last month!!! Does she like to be brushed? (If you are already brushing her, sorry!!) Long haired kitties have so much fur! Hoping she feels back to herself soon, sending much love! xoxo

  2. OH NO! Oh Roxy I am SO sorry for all this! Perhaps your human can now give you something to help you pass those ugly purr balls. This happened to one of my cats a LONG time ago, too. It was awful and it was scary. Good thing your human has powers of observation and noticed you had a big tummy ache. Hope you are feeling better real soon!!! (((HUGS))) Mom BonZo

    • Thank you so much, dear Mom BonZo! I was so scared. But I’m happy to be back home! My tummy still hurts though. 😦 The vet gave the humans some stuff to help me pass those stupid hairballs. Much love, Roxy ❤

  3. Poor darling Roxy – not nice at all 😦 So glad you’re on the mend xxx

One of ours had ‘the biggest hairball I’ve seen’ according to our vet. Did you know that feeding cats slightly cooked leaks can get rid of hairballs – that slimy consistency helps slide it all out. In answer to your undoubted question – no, we’ve never managed to persuade a cat to eat leaks 😀

      • Hey sweet Little Binky and dear Granny! Thanks so much for stopping by again. That means the world to me. You’re so sweet. 🙂 I’m feeling a little bit better. I’ve eaten and drank something but I haven’t used the litter box… yet. The humans took me to the vet again today… but only for follow-up examinations. I was still scared they would leave me at the vets again. But luckily they didn’t!! 😀 Thanks so much for your healing pawkisses. They mean so much to me. 🙂 I ❤ you, dear friends! ❤ ❤ ❤ xx Roxy ❤ ❤ ❤

      • So glad to hear you’re feeling a little bit better, dear Roxy. Don’t worry about the litter, it comes when it comes… 😀 Before you know, you’re on your feet again. A few more healing Pawkisses for a speedy recovery ❤ ❤ ❤

      • MOL 😆 Yep, I guess you’re right… it comes when it comes… (*chuckles*) Thanks for your concern and your sweet wishes! You’re such a sweetheart! 🙂 Love ya! ❤ Smooches, Roxy ❤ ❤ ❤

  6. Roxy!! You must have had a huge tummy ache. I never knew this could happen to us. I have the normal Siamese fur but Kali’s is much thicker…we should keep a watch on her. You must have gone through hell my friend. I am sorry you had to have surgery but you are back here with us so all I can say is…I’m so glad you’re home with Tigerlino and mom again.

  9. Poor Roxy, hope you are soon on the mend. I had something similar when I was a kitty, and I’m fine now, but my Mum always keeps an eye on me. Thinking of you. xxx

    • Thanks so much, sweetie! It means so much to me. 🙂 It was a very scary experience. ‘m so glad to be back home. I’m sorry you had to go through something similar. I’m glad your humans were there to take care of you. Much love, Roxy ❤

  10. Get well beautiful Roxy. It’s very worrying for the humans when cats stop eating. ( I am having a lot of difficulty loading your blog and leaving messages by the way, not sure why, but it ‘freezes’ my system.

    • Thanks so much, dear Sarah! That’s so sweet of you. 🙂 Thanks for letting us know about the difficulties you have loading our blog. Maybe we must reduce our photo file sizes to make the website load faster? xx Roxy ❤

  11. Oh no! We are so sorry to hear this, Roxy girl! We are happy to hear that everything went well and that you are now at home resting and on the mend. We will be sending lots of warm and comforting purrs and prayers your way for a speedy recovery! Now quit eating that fur! 😉

  12. Liebste Roxy,
du jagst mir ja einen Schrecken ein. Warum machst du das? Du musst doch das olle Haarzeugs rechtzeitig wieder rauswürgen! 😮 Schnuckilein werd schnell wieder gesund, hörst du!
    Ganz fette Umschmuser
    dein Engel

      deine Roxy ❤

  13. Oh Roxy, we are so so sorry. But glad they got that hairball out of there. We sure hope you are feeling better really soon. We sure send all of our purrs to you. Take good care.
